Reconciliation with God

Reconciliation involves a restoration of relations. Whether we realize it or not we have been designed to have an intimate relationship with God.

We are born with a sinful nature. Shortly after entering into this world most of us are provided for continually. Typically, we start to make demands on others or expect things our way on our terms. These self centered attributes and characteristics separate us from the perfect and Holy purity of God. This is sin.

No human is perfect or sinless.
Rom. 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

From God’s perspective we are described in Isaiah:
Isa. 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.

So God, the Father, God of Abraham, sent His perfect Son, Jesus Christ to solve the sin dilemma. A bridge, a method, a one way life changing opportunity to reunite our spiritual soul with the God of the universe forever.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “ I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”

Jesus becomes our reconciler, our advocate, our representative, adopting us into
God’s family.
We become righteous through Christ, justified and at peace with God.

Rom. 5:1 therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom. 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Can we make amends or perform great virtuous acts on our own to earn our position with God? No, impossible.

Eph. 2:8,9. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Calling yourself a Christian or going to church regularly can mean nothing. Tithing and following religious rituals often will fool self proclaimed Christians and deceptively lead some to Hell. Jesus Himself proclaims the truth in John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “ Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” You must be “ born again” or Born Of The Spirit.

When the Spirit of God enters your heart everything changes. You will know it. You become bathed by the undeserved Grace of God with His Holy Spirit and a feeling of endless love and forgiveness. For some people it is can be immediate and overwhelming. For others it can be drawn out over time, but undeniable, persistent, and usually includes a series of miracles or unexplainable events. In both cases the Holy Spirit has been implanted into your heart and you will never be the same again.

2 Cor. 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Salvation

Becoming a Christian can be a simple process, depending on your willingness to accept Christ and let Him into your heart:

  • We must humbly acknowledge we have sinned ( we fall short of God’s perfection and have violated His laws)
  • We must repent. Admit to the Lord we have tried it our way. We regret what we have done and are willing to change direction. We will submit to His Lordship and make every effort to do things His way. ( He forgives us of all trespasses)
  • Most important of all we must have real faith and put unconditional trust in Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

What follows is a new life with the Lord.

Christ has provided us with a permanent reconciliation. Now this is just the beginning of our spiritual journey. Knowledge of Christ and a “ salvation ticket “ by the grace of God opens the door to Heaven.

So why are we still alive on earth?

  • To purify our lives and become more “ Christ like “
  • To be the light of the world
  • To experience true joy and love from above and share with others
  • To participate in an unending, glorious, and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ!!
