After we have reconciled with God and firmly established our Divine relationship, what’s next? Did God design us and adopt us into his family to live in a cave or coast to Heaven? Certainly not! We have been created to build up the kingdom of God with spiritual interaction and love.
Eph. 2:20-22 having been built up in the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
1 Pet. 2:5. You also, as living stones, are being built up a Spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

I believe when we Love the Lord with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves we are watering. God provides the seed; the
physical and spiritual DNA divinely designed for growth. The Lord inspires sowers; wonderful souls that spread the Gospel, the Word of God. additionally, we should realize there is a nurturing process, it includes protection, encouragement, and support, this is watering.
So why is watering so important? Because the adversary wants to stunt growth. Demonic forces attempt to suppress, demoralize, create doubt, and aggravate God’s spiritual builders.
We have been designed by God to spiritually grow with faith, hope, and love. We harmoniously participate by taking action, by using our spiritual gifts, by remembering we are “ living stones” in His Kingdom.
The result is:
- Peace, joy, and love in ever increasing levels.
- Incredible blessings from God for ourselves and for others.
- Endless, explosive growth in the kingdom of God.
Watering our relationship with the Lord includes:

Trusting
When we trust the Lord, our relationship grows closer. We mature in Christ faster and with greater depth, avoiding mistakes, wasted time, and curves.
Prov. 3:5,6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Ps. 56:4. In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Humility
When we have a humble spirit, the Lord provides blessings and grace.
Jas. 4:6. But he gives more grace. Therefore he says: “ God Resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Prov. 16:18. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Thankfulness
Being thankful to God is met with endless love and faithfulness. He will pour out his grace upon us.
Ps. 100:4. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all the generations.
Ps. 106:1. Praise the Lord, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever.
Glorifying
When we glorify God, we honor Him with praise. In turn He transforms us with His Spirit into His likeness.
2 Cor. 3:18. But we all, with unveiled face, be holding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Ps. 9:1,2. I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart, I will tell of all your wonderful deeds, I will be glad and rejoice in you, I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
Praying
Praying is at the core of our intimate relationship with God. The more you pray for guidance, support, and direction; the closer the Lord becomes with answers, blessings, and peace.
Phil. 4:6,7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Thess. 5:16-18. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Watering our relationships with others includes:

Forgiving
When we forgive others for an offense, we spiritually mature and grow. It removes the chains on our heart and extends grace to the offender. In turn we will both grow closer to our Lord.
Col. 3:13. Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
Serving
God equipped us to serve. What we spiritually gain by serving will far exceed any use of our time.
Mk. 10:45. “ For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Mt. 20:26 “ Yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.”
Giving
Give with an open heart and without expectation of return. You will be blessed later with appreciation and abundance from God.
Lk. 6:38. “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Teaching
Teaching and mentoring to others spreads the eternally accurate words of God. Your faith and understanding will grow and especially your brothers and sisters in Christ.
1 Tim. 4:6. In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.
Edifying
Edification involves “ building up” The spiritual growth of ourselves and fellow believers. When it is done in love without self promotion, edification becomes a powerful force of God.
Eph. 4:16. From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does it’s share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Loving
Love in Christ is the greatest force in the universe. When true “ agape love” Is projected, it becomes an extension of Jesus Himself.
Gal. 5:13,14 For You brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
